A good chef's knife is the foundation of every kitchen. It's often the first knife you pick up and the last you put away. From chopping vegetables and herbs to portioning meat and preparing fish.
With the Blackout Edition Damascus Chef's Knife 20 cm from Shinrai Knives, you bring home a versatile kitchen knife made for daily use. Sharp, comfortable, and suitable for almost any cutting task.
The Blackout Edition
The Blackout Edition was developed for home cooks who enjoy working with solid kitchen tools. The dark wooden handle and the black finish on the blade give the knife a calm appearance with a powerful character.
A combination of craftsmanship, functionality, and a finish that stands out immediately without being overly present.
Why choose this chef's knife
A chef's knife must be versatile. It should feel comfortable in the hand, stay sharp for a long time, and be suitable for daily kitchen preparations.
- Cutting vegetables and fruits
- Finely chopping herbs
- Portioning meat
- Preparing fish
- Daily use in the kitchen
This way, you'll only need one knife for most of your cutting work.
What you'll notice while cooking
- Versatile use: Suitable for almost all cutting tasks in the kitchen, from rough preparations to precise cutting.
- VG-10 Damascus steel: The 3-layer blade combines long-lasting sharpness with extra strength and protection against wear.
- Stays sharp for a long time: Thanks to its hardness of 61 HRC, the knife maintains its sharpness for a long time, even with intensive use.
- Sharpening angle of 15 degrees: Ensures precise cuts and little resistance during cutting.
- Hammered blade: The dimples in the blade reduce the contact surface with ingredients. This means slices of vegetables, herbs, and other ingredients are less likely to stick to the knife. At the same time, the hammered finish gives the knife its characteristic appearance.
- Comfortable grip: The dark wooden handle feels pleasant in the hand and offers great control while working.
- Good balance: The weight is nicely distributed, making the knife feel stable and easy to maneuver during long cutting tasks.
- Made for daily use: Strong materials and careful finishing ensure you can rely on it for years.
- Stylish finish: The dark wood and black details give the knife a calm and luxurious look.
- Nicely packaged: Comes in a luxurious gift box. Great for gifting or unwrapping yourself.
- 5-year warranty: On material and manufacturing defects.
How to keep your knife in top condition
With a few simple maintenance tips, your knife will stay sharp and pleasant to work with for longer.
- Wash the knife by hand in warm water with a little dish soap.
- Dry it thoroughly immediately after washing.
- Regularly use a whetstone or honing steel to maintain sharpness.
- Store the knife in a knife block, on a magnetic strip, or in a protective sheath.
- Use a wooden or plastic cutting board to keep the blade sharper for longer.
- Avoid the dishwasher. This is better for both the steel and the handle.
A knife you'll reach for again and again
Whether you're preparing a quick meal or extensively cooking for friends and family: the Shinrai Blackout Edition Damascus Chef's Knife 20 cm gives you the control and sharpness you expect from a good chef's knife.
Are you looking for one knife that can handle almost everything in the kitchen? Then this is a choice you'll enjoy for years to come.
