Description

The Wüsthof Amici Chef's Knife 16 cm is an indispensable, versatile knife for every professional and gourmet. It effortlessly chops a cabbage into pieces or cuts wafer-thin slices of a tomato in no time. Thanks to the wide blade, it is also perfect for scooping up ingredients and moving them to the pan. The fine cutting edge is razor-sharp, but we do not recommend using it for cutting bones or very hard fruits such as coconuts.

This edition of the Amici series stands out with its stainless steel rivets and seamless finish. The knife is designed as a robust workhorse that can handle any challenge, with a half bolster that reduces the weight for better control and easier sharpening of the entire blade.

Unique features and specifications

  • Blade finish: Brushed and extra sharp for perfect cuts.
  • Forged: This means that the knife is hammered from a single piece of steel. This ensures that the knife is forged with more time and attention, so that the knife is finished with precision. In this process, innovative technologies are combined with centuries-old traditions of handmade craftsmanship. This Wüsthof knife is 20% sharper than your average knife, thanks to laser-guided sharpening processes.
  • Razor-sharp masterpiece : This knife is razor-sharp, thanks to the craftsmanship of Wüsthof. With this knife you can effortlessly and precisely cut through vegetables or meat. This knife can be sharpened at a razor-sharp angle of 14 degrees due to its hardness of 58 HRC.
  • Grinding method: European
  • Handle: Olive wood
  • Country of origin: Germany, Solingen
  • Balance and ergonomics : This Chef's knife fits perfectly in the hand thanks to its balanced design and resilient 9.5 cm plastic handle. The ergonomic handle with domed bolster ensures optimum comfort and makes the knife ideal for both left- and right-handed people. The half bolster design makes the knife lighter and makes it easier to sharpen the entire blade.
  • Steel type : Made of high-quality X50CrMoV15 steel. Also called WÜSTHOF steel, which has a patented mix of German steel. This knife has an optimal formula for durability.
  • Warranty : We are fully convinced of the quality of Wusthof kitchen knives. That is why we offer a lifetime warranty on material and manufacturing defects!

Maintenance and recommendations

  • Hand wash with mild soap and warm water, avoid the dishwasher.
  • Sharpen regularly with a whetstone or sharpening steel to maintain sharpness.
  • Store in a knife block to protect the cutting edge.
  • Avoid cutting on hard surfaces such as metal, glass or bamboo to keep the blade sharp.
  • Use a soft cutting board to keep the blade sharp and protect it.
